For landscape photographers, tripods and heads are like assistants and partners.
In fact, I had been interested in the red head of Markins for a long time.
I used to be a color coordinator, so I have a strong interest in color, and the moment I saw that wine-red ball head in a photo catalog, it made a strong impression on me.
And then, by chance, I started using the Q10i-RD from the spring of this year (2021), and the beauty of the color and the texture when I first held it in my hands were very good.
Just seeing this rose-like red makes me want to take pictures. It makes me feel excited.
I would like to know the circumstances that led the manufacturer to make a head of that color, but if I start talking about colors, there will be no end to it, so let's get to the main topic.

The most important thing is the performance of the head.
I have used many ball heads, but the most important thing is the smoothness of the ball and the fact that even a woman's hand can fix it without difficulty.
(Things that a man's hand can do easily can be very difficult for a woman's small hand. I think only female photographers can understand this.)
It can be firmly stabilized with just a little force. Such a ball head is the Markins Q10i-RD.
It can be fixed by turning the main knob about half a turn, so it's nice that it doesn't take much force.
It's very easy because the operation from release to fixing can be done in no time.
I adjust the ball to be a little stiffer with the friction control because I also shoot videos, so I can move the camera freely without shaking.
It's also lightweight at 498 grams, so it's easy to carry.

This spring, the cherry blossoms in Kyushu bloomed and fell in an instant, making us photographers cry out in joy. What is required at times like this is lightness of footwork.
There is no time to waste in shooting efficiently and moving on to the next location.
This Markins ball head was useful in such situations.
It allows you to quickly decide on the composition and shoot accurately, and it is even more helpful when shooting at night.
You can compose the image precisely in the viewfinder just by operating the main knob with your left hand, and you don't have to do anything else. Nothing is more reassuring in the dark than simple operation.
I mainly use the Markins PS-A92 + LS-A92 L-plate set with the SONY α7RIV, and I'm happy that I can quickly compose the image vertically.
The frequently used SONY FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS and the Markins LS-20 lens foot are a perfect match, allowing for stable shooting with a perfect fit.
My newest supporter, the Markins Q10i-RD, is small but powerful, and I'm sure it will be a big help in the coming season.
