Tomoaki Kirino
Born in 1962. Made major debut as a musician with Columbia Records in 1985. After that, taught photography independently and pursued a unique worldview through personal techniques. Began a career as a photographer with the theme of "eternity in a moment" to convey the beauty of the earth and Japan's scenery to future generations. Works, taken without computer reliance and using the same techniques as traditional photography, stimulate the viewer's imagination and invite them into a unique world of beauty.
Featured in the global edition of Canon's corporate calendar in 2013, and exhibited work at many venues, including art museums. In recent years, exhibited work at the Kochi Prefectural Literature Museum's "Kirino Banshu's World and Literary Journey" (Tosa, Japan, and the World), the Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, Italy, and the Milano Expo.
While expanding activities worldwide, also appears on television and gives lectures on "connecting with nature and the sparkle of life." Also dedicated to disaster relief and volunteer work for the Autism Association.

What made me become a photographer?
Originally, I was active as a musician, but I wanted to express the visual images (sound x visual beauty) I get from invisible sounds as a single worldview. I also wanted to convey to future generations the great power that beautiful nature has given me, and to give back to nature, so I became a photographer.

When I'm shooting, I feel the connection of the life surrounding the subject. This is because I feel that "the earth, the universe, and myself are one life, one energy body." I want to continue exploring my potential as an artist, not just to express beauty or individuality in my photos, but to have the viewer feel the storytelling and creativity, the feelings of the people who nurtured the land, and even the flow of time.
Meet Merkins
Every spring, I travel to chase cherry blossoms, and this happened at a certain shooting location along the way. The space for shooting there was small, and there were already many people there, so I asked a little to be allowed to take my place.

As I finished preparing for the shoot, the person next to me looked at my head and asked, "Does that shake?" Then he showed me the head he uses and said, "This is the head I recommend."

I immediately purchased the head he told me about at that time, and was impressed by how easy it was to use and how tight it was, and I truly understood what stability means, and that is this Markins ball head.

I can use it with confidence even with a telephoto lens that I thought was a little difficult, so now I have concluded that "I can't use any head other than Markins."

In fact, it is not an exaggeration to say that the camera and Markins head are integrated, and you can move it so intuitively. In addition, I also like the two-tone black and red design, so now I recommend this Markins whenever I receive a consultation about camera shake.

For me, being able to take stable photos goes beyond the issue of price. Also, the after-sales support is excellent. In fact, the other day I thought that I had made a mistake and it was broken, so I had several exchanges with the seller, but I realized that I can continue to use it with confidence in the future because of the very polite response.

From now on, Markins will be my reliable partner.
